direction. we have been tracking it for several hours now at lawrence expressway on highway 1 01. the two right lanes are shut down right in the middle of all the action is like kron4 is micha's mike pelton. >> of little bit of progress is being made out here, you can see the crews trying to get the debris and struck out of the roadway. this all happened before 3:00 this morning the big rig you see hit the guard rail. you can see some of the debris and damage. this guard rail that was it just before 3:00 after he hit the guard rail at disabled his vehicle. they can't move it because it is leaking fuel. 30 gal. of are the lead on to the roadway. they need to get all of the fuel out of the tank and get it into safe

containers. there and the process of draining the fuel. they have two lanes of traffic open and you can see traffic crawling by. this is causing a nightmare commute furred the driver is out here this morning. there is no word on this along this is going to take to clear all you can see they have a ways to go. the driver told chp that the driver cut him off and that caused him to hit the guard rail, that is still under investigation. he only suffered minor injuries. >> it looks like one fire man has his hand going up and down, he is probably operating the pump to get the fuel island key like you talk about. why hasn't caltrans simultaneously started working on some of that debris? can't they at least a start to clear some of that out while the fire crews and emergency personnel are dealing with

northbound a large expressway. >> let us check with michael pelton who are believed to have some progress on that he can final report upon. >> michael what is the latest? >> well, george a lot of progress made there are close to opening the freeway fully. they came and laid down a substance to soak up the diesel fuel. they have also swept away a lot of the debris. this is after a semi truck hit a guard rail where i am just before 3:00 a.m. this morning. once it hit the guard rail it is able the truck and it took a while to clear the big rig off of the road way because it was leaking fuel. they removed the truck about 20 minutes ago they had to pour the remaining fuel in the vehicle into a safe metal container. for all morning long a highway has been down to 2 lanes you can see
